I have always loved music
It goes down deep into your soul
And touches things that you thought
You could not reach yourself.
To know and be known
This is relationship
There is a music to it
We all crave that kind of touch.
I have always loved music
It goes down deep into your soul
And touches things that you thought
You could not reach yourself.
To know and be known
This is relationship
There is a music to it
We all crave that kind of touch.
In the bar I heard a laugh
Thank you all for all things pink
Let me love as I have been
And this for me as well.
But He always sees
And that I forget
And in the heat of the sun
In the middle of Africa
In a dry land
He makes a way
And it does not escape His notice.
And He loves.
If you pretend to overlook an offense
It really isn’t love.
And resentment builds and it comes out
One way or another.
I love to find the best of things
And search them to the core
But dinner bells begin to ring
and my mind leaves the fore.
I would love to really love
And the older now I get
I realize just how hard it is
To even love myself.
Quick falls the pretense
When life is on the line.
I cannot pretend now
To be more spiritual
Than I really am today
My heart just can’t take the lying.
Love really is
The hardest and the best
The journey and the goal
God see me through.
Sometimes people make you feel like an afterthought
And it stings a little
And you want to return the favour.
But love is different
And I was first loved
And people have their own story- especially the people hurting your feelings.
It’s funny,
Having feelings
They are so honest and yet so mysterious.
Sometimes we don’t realize
Just how much the things we don’t say
can really hurt
hurt the people we do not want to hurt.
Sometimes we know and don’t care
Sometimes we are so blinded by our own hurts and fears
That we don’t understand much at all.
But regardless I hope to find myself
Loving as I should love
Not to be a doormat
But to do as I would want done.
But really,
if we are honest,
We want to avoid the confrontation
(not all of us mind you).
But all of us
Want to avoid
some confrontation.
We all want to be loved-
But how hard is it?
We all want to belong,
But we don’t always look around us.
You see,
we all want to connect with someone-
no,
we need to connect with someone.
And who is trying?
Desperately trying
to connect with us,
right now?
Loving is hard, isn’t it?
And I am not talking about romance
The way is hard
and who can tread it,
without God?
It seems
that it is hard to go without people
and that it can be hard to love people without God
and it can be hard to approach God…
and then there is this gospel.
I hope I find you
And realize that you are you
Amidst all this pain.
Some things take more doing than others
I hope that in love
(in all its kinds)
I will remember that.
It is hard to not live in the past sometimes
For yourself
and for others
even though
the past
is gone.
I think I should learn to dance
So many analogies of beautiful things
Compare those things
To dance…
So why not dance?
Dancing can be beautiful
And beauty holds a connection to truth
(though what we could not say)
And truth is necessary
For real love-
both to give it
and to receive it.
